  • Embedded Parallel Systems
  • Embedded System-on-a-Chip Implementations
  • Multithreaded Processors
  • Software Defined Radios
  • Digital Signal Processors

In addition, this year's SAMOS workshop will have four special sessions covering the following research fields:

  • Energy-Efficient Embedded Wireless Sensor Networks
  • Model-Based Real-Time Embedded System Design
  • Pervasive Computing and Communications
  • Dependable Computing
  • Embedded sensors

The meeting is composed of two colocated events:

  • IC-SAMOS - The International Conference on Embedded Computer Systems: Architectures, MOdeling, and Simulation is an IEEE co-sponsored conference. It considers for publication new state-of-the-art mature research papers on the topics described above. The IC-SAMOS conference proceedings will be published in the IEEE series.

  • SAMOS Workshop - The Embedded Computer Systems: Architectures, MOdeling, and Simulation (SAMOS) workshop as in the previous years considers state-of-the-art papers on ongoing work with promising preliminary results in the topics described above. Special sessions in related research fields are also invited. Positional and in-depth review papers are also considered. The SAMOS Workshop proceedings will be published by Springer Verlag in the LNCS series.

Authors are invited to submit papers to either or both events. All papers will be reviewed by an international program committee. The SAMOS conference and workshop have established a tradition of not only presenting new results but also bringing to the audience open challenging problems and on-the-stage requests for suggestions for solutions. In addition of considering only new innovative research, submissions of works in progress, positional, and review of the state-of-the-art papers are also encouraged.

Plenary sessions are held in the mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 01:30 p.m. Afternoons are reserved for informal sessions to discuss the launched open problems. The unique format of the SAMOS conference series provides the participants with an environment where collaboration rather than competition is fostered. The SAMOS workshop has been envisioned to provide a forum where everyone is encouraged to bring up for discussion, formally or not, new and daring ideas for embedded systems.
